Partner Program

Raven Ink

Supporting economic self-sufficiency, self-development, and self-determination through education.

At Chase Youth Programs, we believe every student should have the tools they need to learn, grow, and thrive. Through our partnership with Raven Ink, we aim to give more kids access to incredible tools for improving their writing and critical thinking skills, so that they can reach their fullest potential.

What Is Raven Ink?

Raven Ink continues the work of Dr. George Guthridge. Dr. Guthridge was a University of Alaska professor and classroom teacher who spent decades developing and refining a practical system for teaching clear writing and critical thinking. He taught the method to more than 30,000 students and trained thousands of teachers. His approach helped students who had never written a complete paragraph reach organized, grade-level writing, and it supported strong academic results across many settings.

Raven Ink teaches that same clear writing and critical thinking so students gain stronger academic results, greater self-knowledge, and better chances for socioeconomic mobility.  The focus is practical. Raven Ink gives teachers low-burden tools they can use right away, and we give students a reliable way to organize their thinking and write with clarity. The same method works across subjects and grade levels.

Raven Ink pairs structured writing instruction with materials that connect to students’ own lives and communities. The goal is measurable growth for students who have often been left behind in writing, while supporting educators and local efforts in literacy and student success.

In short, Raven Ink exists to help students learn to think and write clearly so they can succeed in school and carry those skills into the rest of their lives.

Meet The Founder

Jason Maxwell

My passion for education began in 2003 as a rookie English teacher in Aomori, Japan. I decided to get my master’s in teaching and eventually my school leadership certificate because I wanted to be more effective in education. Much of my time has been spent living and working in underserved communities in Rural Alaska. While in Alaska, is when I met and worked with Alaska’s legendary educator Dr. George Guthridge for a two years at the University of Alaska as his assistant Writing 111 teacher. I use his GWS teaching method for my K-12 and university students to this day.

In November 2024, George and began working to get his 46-year Guthridge Writing System digitized and serving underserved communities in Rural Thailand.  Unfortunately, George passed away last August. George entrusted me to continue our mission to improve the lives of people through his academic writing system, GWS.

Today with Envazia.com, we are building Raven Inc, a GWS digitized and dual-market platform empowering homeschool families (B2C) and institutions in low-connectivity regions (B2B). My mission is to scale George’s breakthrough GWS so millions of underserved citizens can unlock their full potential.

Our focus portfolio companies represent a dynamic spectrum of forward-thinking ventures across sectors. These companies strive to position themselves to drive innovation, disrupt markets, and create lasting value, reflecting our commitment to nurturing sustainable growth. Each portfolio company embodies our dedication to fostering entrepreneurial excellence and catalyzing positive change.

Support for both students and teachers

Two tools are available: a teacher web app and a mobile-first student app, both of which are available offline.

Teacher Web App

Teachers assign lessons, guide Live Session delivery, track class activity, and build writing skills through a repeatable, step-by-step system.

Student Mobile App

Students enter assigned lessons, self-navigate writing tasks, and submit work even when the internet is unavailable.

Why This Partnership Matters

3

Support Better Writing: We believe strong writing skills can create opportunities for students far beyond the classroom.

4

Connect Educators With Resources: We want teachers to know about tools that can make writing instruction more effective and engaging.

5

Bring Great Ideas to More People: When we find something we believe can benefit students, we want to help get it into their hands.
