Darren Chase

Founder & CEO

Darren founded Chase Youth Programs with a vision to bring quality after-school programming to Atlanta schools. With extensive experience in youth development and community partnerships, he oversees program development, school relationships, and strategic growth.

Helen Francis, M. Ed.

Chief Operating Officer

Helen brings six years of teaching experience and advanced degrees in Psychology, Early Childhood Education, and Elementary Education. She manages operations, supports staff development, and leads our tutoring program with specialized expertise in reading and math instruction.

Leanne Akerman, M. Ed.

Director of Tutoring

Leanne Akerman is an experienced educator dedicated to helping students succeed. With a background in classroom teaching, instructional coaching, and educational technology, she creates personalized tutoring plans that focus on each student’s strengths, goals, and challenges. Leanne works closely with families to track progress and ensure meaningful academic growth while fostering confidence and a genuine love for learning.

Ay'Maya Murchison

Director of Community Service

Ay’Maya leads community service at Chase Youth Programs, driving youth leadership initiatives and building strong community partnerships. With experience as both a Program Assistant and Director, she specializes in mentorship and leadership programming that develops confidence, teamwork, and personal growth while inspiring meaningful community impact.

Alex Bahrawy, MBA

Director of Marketing

Alex manages all aspects of program and organizational marketing at Chase Youth Programs, including digital advertising, website management, and social media. He brings over a decade of experience in marketing, communications, and web management to this role and is passionate about furthering the organization's mission of providing crucial athletic programs for youth.

Scott Musgrave

Director of Basketballl

Scott Musgrave is the Director of Basketball at Chase Youth Programs, where he leads and manages the basketball department. He brings over 40 years of experience as a player, referee, trainer, and coach, specializing in player development through a strong focus on fundamentals, teamwork, and game IQ to help athletes succeed.

Kendra Whittemore

Director of Tennis/Pickleball

Kendra’s love of tennis and pickleball fuels her energetic and team-oriented approach to this role. With 15 years of experience in early childhood education and extensive customer support experience, she strives to build strong relationships and foster team camaraderie. She is passionate about creating engaging environments where students feel supported, confident, and excited to learn and grow.
